Pro tips for this letter
  • This is the most carefully read document in a student application. Invest real time in it.
  • Name specific faculty, research labs, or curriculum features — generic statements are weak.
  • Your post-graduation return plan must be concrete and credible. Vague 'contribute to my country' statements are not enough.
  • Connect your previous degree to your current program — there should be a logical academic progression.
  • For scholarship holders: reference your scholarship prominently — it dramatically strengthens the application.
  • Avoid anything that suggests you want to stay abroad after graduation — 'I would love to live in Canada' is a red flag.
  • Print this on plain white paper — not on your university's letterhead or any official letterhead.

Your details

Must match your passport exactly — no nicknames.

Optional. Including it strengthens document traceability.

This is the most important field. Officers look for genuine academic rationale.

The more specific and credible your return plan, the stronger the letter.
